Thank you for your interest in joining our Japhet School Family and for believing that character education is an essential part of your child’s education. We believe that education of children is a shared responsibility between the school, family, and the community. Our facTheulty focuses on educating the whole child, and establishing a strong basis for academic, physical, moral, social, and spiritual development. 

ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES

Japhet School enrolls students with a wide range of intellectual experience and provides opportunities for students to be successful since we believe all students possess talents and gifts. We have a thorough admissions process to ensure students who join Japhet School can strive for their personal best.

Interview process: Prior to applying to Japhet School, families will interview with our Admissions Director, Robin Pospisil, and meet the Head of School. Contact Robin at 248 585-9150, or robin.pospisil@japhetschool.org to set up a meeting.

Visit: Interested first through eighth grades students will visit their prospective classroom for two full school days. Students will explore the classroom, curriculum, and the school culture and community. It also helps teachers to assess the academic and social strengths of each student to aid in determining the fit between school and student. Many friendships bud during these visits and it is not unusual for current and prospective students alike to want the visit to become a full-time arrangement.

Interested preschool and kindergarten students will visit for a morning with their parent(s). With parent(s) nearby, the visit gives comfort to the child, and lets the child see the parents enjoying the room, the teachers, and other students. Parents can experience the nurturing environment their child will be taught in and get a view of how the day is designed. Lastly, teachers can get some insight into the parent/child relationship, which can provide helpful clues and strategies to use on a daily basis.
