Preschool - 8th Grade

Junior Kindergarten/Kindergarten

Kindergarten nurtures children’s natural curiosity, building a lifelong love of learning. Traditional and discovery-based classroom methods develop reading, math, and higher-level thinking skills. Children are encouraged to make decisions, discover, and be creative.

  • Kindergarten enrolls up to 16 students per day
  • Create a schedule that meets parents’ needs: five full days, five half days, or a combination
  • Kindergarteners enjoy daily outdoor play or large-motor skill development in our full-size gym.
  • In addition to creative projects in the Kindergarten classroom, students enjoy weekly Art, Library, Music, Life Skills, and Spanish classes taught by Japhet specialists.
  • Age to enroll: Kindergarteners are 5 years old by November 1.

Kindergarten is part of Japhet’s Early Childhood Program. Along with Preschool, these classrooms teach children independence and problem-solving. Both classes emphasize the practice of peacemaking. Social and emotional development is key, as Kindergarteners learn how expressing each character quality helps them to be peacemakers in the classroom, at home, in our communities, and in the world.
