Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Students, parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, trustees, and guests gathered outside for the official commemoration of our new school home. Special guests included the major of Clawson, representatives from the Clawson and Royal Oak Chambers of Commerce, and many other  friends. Board President Julie Knaffla and I shared remarks, and students witnessed with glee as we “cut” the ribbon with the biggest pair of scissors students had ever seen!

After the ribbon was cut, music teacher Lynn Koch led students in singing the song “Jambo,” or “Hello,” in several languages. Upper Class students accompanied the song on ukuleles and percussion.

We’ve posted a photo album and video on our Facebook page. You can view it here!   http://www.facebook.com/JaphetSchool
